Today was a full day at camp. We slept in just a bit. I had thought everyone would want my famous egg McMuffin sandwiches but cinnamon rolls were requested instead. I make them on the Blackstone. place a decent amount of butter on the griddle, place your Pillsbury cinnamon rolls on the griddle and smash them a spatula or burger smasher. flip when ready. They are really good.
I did have a bit of a scare. Summer and Libby were hanging out exploring the grounds. Libby said she was going to be back in a few since the rolls were almost done. After we ate I texted her that the food was done and we wanted to get moving. It never delivered but that's not un-normal as only wifi is available here and it drops easily. I went out to look for her and could not find her. Searched the little trail and not there either. By this point it had been over an hour. Went to the front desk and notified them that Libby was missing. the entire staff was alerted and several guys went out on trails that I was not aware of. Walking outside towards one of the trails, there she was. She had walked north along the lake up to a campground about a half hour walk and turned around. She was totally oblivious about how long she was gone so we had a little chat about how she would never be found if she got lost or taken, or attacked by a bear.
We got packed up for a hike. We went to a little trail called Mineral Lick. The front desk person said this would be the best place to see wildlife as the sheep lick the mineral formations. Hence the name. On the way we saw two caribou. We got to the trailhead and started out. It was a quick 1.2km loop. However we did see a few side quest trails that had been less traveled. One led to the bottom of the mineral formation. Another lead to the top. The top gave some amazing views. Unfortunately we did not see any wild life.
Of course wouldn't you know, there was stone sheep and it's baby on the side of the road. We parked while I took photo's. I got to try out my new 150mm-600mm lens that I won. It took amazing photo's!
When we got back to the camper we made lunch. Summer wanted to swim. Of course she said I had to go with. We sat on the dock and put our feet in. It was freezing. She claimed she would go if I go. I don't think either of us really wanted to jump in. Instead we went back to the camper and I went to do laundry.
We had burgers for dinner. The just taste better while your looking at mountains.
After dinner we went exploring for wildlife. Except for Summer. She was natured out. We found a moose, big horned sheep and a porcupine. Pretty awesome. Also there are just random trails just big enough for a vehicle to drive down. Made us wish for the jeep. We of course drove down them. They all ended in dead ends and not sure what the purpose of them were for. Sometimes we would find fire rings made out of stone. Luckily no crazy mountain people. We wanted to have a campfire but it started to rain. By the time it stopped everyone was ready for bed.
Love the pictures!!
