Today started out with a flurry of calls with Tim about the water heater. I had the water heater replaced and working by noon. It was 10 years old so it was at its end of life. Guess I should have worried about replacing that instead of the HVAC. Luckily it happened now instead of further in the trip when I wouldn't have cell access.
We were packed and leaving the campground by 8:30 this morning. I had wanted to try Tim Hortons, Which is a cross between Starbucks and Dunkin' I believe. When I was looking up how to get there and if I could get the camper in lot I saw a google listing for a local shop. Everyone raved about the cinnamon rolls. Guess we will have to try out Timmy's another day. The google reviews did not lie. The cinnamon roll was awesome.
The drive was pretty uneventful. Lots of country side. I forgot to mention it yesterday but I was surprised how many oil rigs there are. I thought most of the Dakotas was fracking and not wells. It was also odd to see seedlings in the farm fields this time of year.
Yesterday I was going into a strong headwind all day so my milage sucked. Today it was calm and made up for yesterday.
We are at another really nice regional campground. It included a free bundle of firewood so we are hoping the rain holds off so we can use it. We did get a 5 minute downpour about an hour ago.
Sadly today is not ending well on the mechanical front. I noticed that the interior wall next to the main slide is broken. There is no give when I push on it, and no movement when I put the slide full in or full out. There is an ever so slight give when pushing in the area outside. The structure is aluminum framed so I might have popped a weld. I'm crossing my fingers that it does not get worse and that the frame warranty will cover repairs when we get back.
Tomorrow night we will be in Fox Creek, AB
Love the daily updates! Have fun Andersons!
